Essential Computer Skills
Learn how to use a computer for work or fun.
Our Program
Learn basic computer and internet skills, how to use email, features of Windows computers, and how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Offered 3 times yearly: Fall (September-January), Winter/Spring (January-June). Shortened class (July)
All classes are FREE!
Content offered:
- Computer Basics: where students learn fundamental computer skills, like identifying hardware and software.
- Internet Basics: where students learn how to get around the internet safely and gain skills to perform searches
- Using Email: where students learn how to use email clients to compose emails using proper etiquette
- Windows OS: where students learn about one of the most popular operating systems currently used.
- Microsoft Word: Where students learn the basics about creating documents.
- Microsoft Excel: Where students learn the basics about creating and editing spreadsheets.
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Where students learn the basics about presentations.

Microsoft Office Specialist
A Microsoft Office Specialist may work in many different industries performing essential business functions such as word processing, data entry, presentation, and spreadsheet preparation.
Our Program
This program focuses on preparing students to take & pass a timed, proctored exam to earn a Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate. A Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certificate can be earned for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Students who complete this course will possess high level skills in using the Microsoft applications.
Location: Online via Zoom
Class Format: Independent Study requiring a minimum of 10 hours/week including a one-hour Zoom meeting
Course Requirements:
- Commit at least 10 hours/week to studying independently
- Attend a weekly one hour Zoom meeting
- Read at the 6th grade level in English
- Be comfortable with computers, internet & online tools like Zoom
- Have some previous experience with Microsoft
- Have access to high-speed, reliable internet
- Have access to a fully-featured computer (PC or Mac). A smart phone is not sufficient for this course.
Tier One Helpdesk Support Professional
Helpdesk support professionals provide technical support and assistance related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
Our Program
This class focuses on earning the CompTIA A+ certificate. The curriculum includes operating system installation and upgrading, installing and imaging virtual machines, data storage, peripheral devices, safety and maintenance, assembly and disassembly of hardware, computer networks, internet security, and troubleshooting.

Security or Systems Administrators ensure a computer network's hardware, software and data are secure and protected from attacks, threats and vulnerabilities.
Our Program
This class focuses on earning the CompTIA Security+ certificate. Testing is FREE and classes are FREE.
The class curriculum includes:

This program prepares you to pass the CompTIA Server+ certification exam.
Our Program
Prepare for the CompTIA Server+ certification exam by learning to install, manage, and troubleshoot both physical and virtual servers. Topics include hardware maintenance, operating system configurations, storage solutions, and security. This class is paired with CompTIA

CompTIA Cloud+
This program prepares you to pass the CompTIA Cloud+ certification exam.
Our Program
Cloud+ validates technical and hands-on skills needed for secure cloud operations across all platforms. You’ll learn cloud architecture, design concepts, implementation, and maintenance of secure cloud storage environments. Completion includes a free exam voucher.
